Workers' comp files have a specific shape
A workers' compensation medical file is not a personal injury file. The questions are different:
- Is the injury work-related, and does the mechanism described on day one match what the records say later?

Can OctopusLM tell me whether an injury is work-related?
No — and you should be wary of any tool that claims to. What it does is put every dated statement about mechanism, onset, and pre-existing history into one cited chronology so that the adjudicator, nurse, or physician making the causation call can see the full record quickly and point to the exact pages that support the decision.
Does it read Functional Abilities Forms and other structured forms?
Yes. Structured forms such as the WSIB FAF, Form 8, and CNESST assessment forms are read along with the clinical notes, and their contents — restrictions, expected duration, RTW status — appear as dated entries in the chronology.
How does it handle long chronic pain or long-duration claims?
Long treatment histories are where a chronology earns its keep. OctopusLM processes files with thousands of pages and years of treatment, and the dated timeline makes plateaus, escalations, and gaps visible at a glance.
Is this a desktop program?
No. OctopusLM is a web application. There is nothing to install; users log in from a browser and upload PDFs. Records are encrypted in transit and at rest and are never used to train models.
