Checking citations and reading the pages that matter. Be conservative.

This estimates the time spent producing a summary and chronology from the raw file. It does not assume the clinical or claims judgement goes away — it assumes you verify a cited chronology instead of reading every page. Defaults are illustrative; your own numbers are the ones that matter.

How the estimate is calculated

  1. Manual hours = pages per month ÷ pages per hour.
  2. Manual cost = manual hours × hourly cost.
  3. Hours with OctopusLM = manual hours × verification %. You still open the cited pages that matter to the decision; you stop reading the ones that don't.
  4. OctopusLM cost = the cheaper of $0.10 × pages or $250 flat. The break-even is 2,500 pages a month.
  5. Net saving = reviewer time saved − OctopusLM cost.

What the calculator deliberately leaves out: faster reserving, fewer outsourced summary invoices, shorter cycle times, and the value of a chronology that survives a challenge because every line cites a page. Those are real but specific to your organization. For team pricing on the Insurance & Legal plan, book a 15-minute demo.

The estimate is a guess. One file isn't.

Upload a real file, time how long the verification takes, and put your own number in the calculator.
